The Timberwolves stand as one of the NBA's top teams, though they may not openly declare it just yet.

In the opening pair of playoff clashes, the Timberwolves have rendered the Nuggets, reigning NBA champions, into a frustrated and discontented group.

According to Jim Souhan, the Timberwolves currently reign as the NBA's premier team.

While they require ten more victories to secure a championship title and assert this claim officially, the evidence is clear for all to see. Despite the anticipation, the rest of us can already perceive their dominance.

Last season, the Denver Nuggets established themselves as the league's elite, cruising through the playoffs to clinch the championship with ease.

However, in this second-round playoff showdown, the Timberwolves have swiftly turned the tables. Despite a less-than-stellar offensive performance in the first game, they managed to secure victory. Then, in Game 2 on Monday night in Denver, they decimated the defending champions with a resounding 106-80 win, establishing a commanding 61-35 lead by halftime.

In just two games, the Timberwolves have transformed the once-mighty champions into a disheartened and disgruntled group.

Remarkably, the Timberwolves achieved this feat on the road, at altitude, considered a challenging venue to play. Moreover, they achieved it without their presumed defensive linchpin, Rudy Gobert, who was absent while attending the birth of his child.

Ironically, the cries of the infant would have been overshadowed by the lamentations of the Nuggets on Monday night.
