Rapper Nicki Minaj encountered a brief arrest and subsequent fine at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Saturday, as Dutch authorities allege the discovery of "soft drugs" in her luggage.

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, the Dutch national police agency, took to social media Saturday night, revealing that a 41-year-old American woman was arrested on suspicion of exporting soft drugs. After consultation with local prosecutors, she was fined and released from custody, though the exact amount of the fine remains undisclosed.

Though Dutch police did not explicitly name Minaj as the suspect, the rapper shared video footage of the incident on social media. In the video, she recounts being informed by police that marijuana was purportedly found in her bags and that it needed to be weighed.

Minaj's video also captures a suited individual informing her of the authorities' intention to search all of her luggage.

"The police officer told me we have to offload all your luggage, and to search everything of your luggage," the unidentified man states in the video.

Furthermore, the man expresses doubt, stating, "...He (a police officer) doesn't believe you don't have more with you than you said."

While cannabis possession is illegal in the Netherlands, its recreational use is tolerated.
