Asher HaVon Stuns Audience with Rendition of Boyz II Men Hit on 'The Voice' Live Show

In the realm of NBC’s The Voice, certainty and guarantees become elusive concepts as the competition progresses into the Live round.

This is precisely the juncture where contestants stand. The Top 12 vocalists have now advanced to the Live segment, where sweaty palms and nerves become the reigning emotions.

Yet amidst this palpable tension, Asher HaVon remained unperturbed.

During Monday night’s episode (May 6), Asher HaVon, a standout from Team Reba, rose to the occasion with a rendition of Boyz II Men’s ‘90s hit, “I’ll Make Love to You,” a chart-topping single that dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks.

HaVon not only did justice to the song but also infused it with his own style, seamlessly blending power, pitch, and soul.

In a pre-performance package leading up to the Live round, the Selma, Alabama native exuded confidence after rehearsals. "It was as grand as I envisioned," HaVon expressed. "I simply hope to do everyone proud, to convey my emotions authentically, and I sincerely ask for your support through your votes."

Asher HaVon has made a significant impact in the 25th season of The Voice.

His powerful rendition of Sia and David Guetta’s “Titanium” during the Playoffs left a lasting impression, drawing praise from Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, who commented, "This felt like a Grammy moment for you, man."

Reba McEntire couldn't contain her enthusiasm, proclaiming, "He could sing the phonebook and make it a hit."

John Legend was equally effusive, likening HaVon's performance to a religious experience. "There are certain qualities about you that remind me of Whitney Houston," Legend remarked. "She would take songs not necessarily written for a soul singer and infuse them with a regal presence and restraint, yet also deliver powerful runs reminiscent of church. In church, we reserve a special term for those with extraordinary talent; we say they're anointed. I truly felt that anointing upon you. It was divine." Legend might regret not turning his chair during HaVon's Blind Audition.

HaVon is no stranger to the spotlight. His impressive resume includes performing for former President Barack Obama during one of his hometown's Civil Rights commemorations.

Now, all eyes are on him.

The nation now has the opportunity to cast their votes for the Top 12: Asher HaVon, Bryan Olesen, Josh Sanders, Karen Waldrup, L. Rodgers, Maddi Jane, Madison Curbelo, Nadège, Nathan Chester, Serenity Arce, Tae Lewis, and Zoe Levert. The results of the vote will be revealed on Tuesday night. Three artists will be eliminated, and the following week, the Top 9 will take the stage.
